How fabulous!

I was in NYC yesterday to check out a bead show. The show was mediocre at best; I managed to find a few diamonds in the rough admist the millions of junky stone bead strands. I came home with gem-grade London blue topaz onion cut briolettes; a phenomenal strand of Brazilian amethyst; juicy, AAA grade peridot rondelles and a strand of intriguing smooth labradorite briolettes.

But...I have to admit...the highlight of the day happened as I was walking to the subway. Out of the corner of my eye, in the Altman building, was a HUGE David Yurman warehouse sale! Naturally being a jewelry and gem addict, I couldn't resist. It was a treasure trove of case after case of gorgeous glittering pieces. I found a cocktail ring that I had to bring home. A very large aqua blue topaz stone set in 18K yellow gold with DY's signature twisted cable shank. A weighty piece that I managed to snap up at more than 50% off retail! And I bought a pair of sterling and lapis cufflinks for Joe, for Christmas. All in all, a successful day in the city. Albeit expensive.
